Below is a speech prepared for my Year 2 daughter based on Seahorses.
Did you know that seahorses have no teeth and
no stomach!
My favourite
underwater sea creature is a seahorse.
Seahorses
are special creatures because of their shape.
There are over 35 different seahorses in the world.
They can be between 15 to 30 cm in size. Seahorses come in many different colours.
They can be white, yellow, red, brown, black, gray, spotted or banded.
They live in coral reefs and sea grass beds.
Seahorses feed on water fleas, small fish and other organisms.
Seahorses
swim upright with their tails down and their heads up.
When they do swim their fin moves so fast
helping them glide through the water.
The only
weird thing about a seahorse is that the man has the babies not the lady. Imagine
that!
